2020 brought a new set of challenges for the Sherwood Young Artists. Our face to face Children's Art classes were suspended due to the Covid-19 Lockdown. However it will take more than a Global Pandemic to stop us being creative!!!!

40+ Sherwood Young Artists all passed either their Discover, Explore, Bronze or Silver Arts Awards in our Summer Moderations. Super proud of all their achievements at this difficult time!!!!

Sherwood Young Artists' News in 2019

April - Arts Award Moderation. 45 children were entered for their Explore, Bronze and Silver Arts Awards. Everyone passed!!!!!!! Yay! So very proud of them all!

June - Sherwood Art Week 2019! We had great fun making our Totem Poles that were proudly on display at the Secret Garden Craft Fair. Our Annual Exhibition looked great and our charity stall raised £140 for Bloodwise and Rainforest UK...........so many little grassheads were made and sold!!! Our Silver Award students also exhibited their 'Arts Challenge' pieces in SAW's 'Art in Shops' Exhibition. They receieved so many amazing comments!

Grasshead Update!!!

July - Summer Mural!!! This year our theme was 'Space'. What fantastic imaginations the Sherwood Young Artists have!

August - Yorkshire Sculpture Park! Sherwood Young Artists had a brill trip out to Yorkshire. Lots of great artwork seen and created, a lovely picnic lunch and a mad dash to escape the rain............ all part of the fun!!!!

October - 'There's No Plan(et) B' Exhibition at Malt Cross and Shop Zero Nottingham. 

Our Bronze, Silver and Gold Award students created artwork that highlighted the plastic polution crisis in our Oceans. Huge thanks to Malt Cross and Shop Zero Nottingham for hosting us!

November - 'Below the Surface' Exhibition, Drawing With Light workshop and Festive Crafts workshops. Exhibition and workshops were devised and delivered by our fabulous Bronze and Silver Award students as part of their Arts Leadership projects. A great success all round!!!

December - Notts Rocks Treasure Hunt in Woodthorpe Park!! Sherwood Young Artists painted some amazing festive rocks that were hidden around Woodthorpe Park for the children and residents of Sherwood to find. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all of us!
